So this album came out earlier this year, and maybe you've heard of them, but Against the Current is a band that I've been following since 2013, back when they had only a few singles and were still mostly a Youtube-Covers band. Little did I know that they would blow up so much. As Infinity and Gravity came out, I was already absolutely in love. Then they announced their first full-length In Our Bones album that was to come out May 2016. I was absolutely ecstatic and had ridiculously high expectations. Needless to say, they met every. Single. One. Against the Current is one of those bands that don't have any specific genre they play. They're a kind of sound that can be only described as, well, Against the Current. From catchy Forever-21 pop tune Runaway or absolutely bad-ass pop-punk Running with the Wild Things, Against the Current has you covered. Perhaps the biggest surprise on the album being the song In Our Bones, for which the album was named after. It's a wonderful accoustic number, really showcasing some beautiful lyrics sung by a beautiful voice. I'm sure Against The Current has another album on the line, and as In Our Bones world tour comes to a close, they'll most likely be hitting the studio. Their constant developpement makes for a great fun following them. This is one of my all time favourite bands that I guarantee that i'll be listening to for a long, long, time. Big congrats to these three young musicians.

I'm sorry, another 2015 album, but I have to! Madness is an absolute work of art. Kick Me to 2 Chord, Sleeping With Sirens keep us absolutely captivated. Glued to our seats. It's something I personally haven't felt with an album for a long, long time. This true sense of what could they possibly do next? With Quinn's spectacular vocals shining through, it's safe to say they've put a lot of thought into this. They really brought out their inner rock, blending it seamlessly with their genius sounds similar to If You Were a Movie, This Would be Your Soundtrack. A sound that can't be described in any way other than "Sleeping With Sirens". Amazing.

Okay so I know it's kinda an old album, but given how vital it is to me, I just thought it was fair to write my very first blog post about it. Let me just say, I was a huge fan of 5sos before this album, but SGFG just blew me away. With Luke Hemmings' (vocals, guitar) ridiculously amazing voice to Ashton Irwin's (drums, vocals) epic beats, Michael Clifford's (guitar, vocals) guitar riffs that were (let's all bear with me as I use this word) - lit - and Calum Hood's (bass, vocals) genius lyrics, this album has seriously made it's mark. It describes society in a too-real way, whether it be dealing with mental illness, having finantial struggles or just being young and in love. Songs like Money, She's Kinda Hot  and Permanent Vacation really bringing more bright and fun sounds to the album, while Invisible, Broken Home and Jet Black Heart shows the Aussie pop-rockers' more emotional sides. Catch Fire, Vapor, Outer Space (all their songs, tbh) showing their lyrical developpement. That they're beyond "American Apparel Underwear" (still love that song, though) and they are here to seriously do buissness.

Perhaps my favourite part of this album is this sense of belonging that I get when listening to it. Like I'm somewhere where I can be accepted for who I am.

Welcome to the New Broken Scene, my friends
